It all started when…
In 2007 Rick’s kids pooled their money together and bought him his first smoker, a Masterbilt Digital Smoker, about the size of a mini fridge. His favorite Christmas present ever, meant to be his hobby, quickly turned to a passion and a craft he spent hours honing to perfection. He added other BBQs, smokers AND grills over the years until recently his wife asked, “Is it really necessary for us to have 5 smokers in the garage?”
He is currently down to 3 smokers. His wife is happy:-).
Rick’s attention to detail when it comes to the food he prepares and serves is evident. He does not take short cuts, even though it means getting up at 2:00 AM to start the fire every night Big Stick BBQ is open. Like the great Texas BBQ Chefs he has followed for the past 10 years,
Rick's motto is; “Low and Slow”.
His side dishes are made fresh daily, with fresh ingredients.
He has taken BBQ and made it an art form.
Rick and Linda live in Bellingham Washington where all of their children and grandchildren live and when not on the food truck, or at their restaurant, they can be found frequenting one of the many great food establishments in Bellingham, hosting a dinner party in their home, or wine tasting in nearby Woodinville Washington.
